Abstract Acrylic Painting isperfect for the adventurous and creative student! Students will learn proper care and use of acrylic paint. They will learn composition, color mixing, and a variety of mark making approaches for making abstract art. Students will create at least four artworks and will have the foundation and materials to create a great deal more. These courses are designed for students self motivated and excited about visual art.
This course is geared toward students from 10 to 16 years old, but older students and adults can enroll if desired. This course is Four Weeks long and can be started and finished at any point in July or August. Each week is comprised of three components: An introduction video and assignment (20 minutes), a weekly video call check-in (30 minutes), and a final review video call at the end of the week (30 minutes). This set up means that each course has four assignments and eight video calls. Supplies are not included in the price but a recommended list is available to order through Amazon or Micheal's, the supplies will last longer than four weeks. This format is awesome for families that go away for the summer since it can be done anywhere and I offer discounts for students who enroll in multiple courses or families that have multiple students enrolled. The graphite pencil may be one of the most important and versatile tools in the artist's tool kit because it's vital for understanding sketching, value, and spatial understanding. This class introduces pencil drawing for young artists and provides them with important skills and exercises to promote and expand their skills. Students will learn about the material and its uses for art making. Students will create at least three projects within this course along with several technical activities. Smartphone cameras have nearly eliminated the need for point-and-shoot digital cameras but they also offer an easy and available way to teach digital photography. Every generation of smartphone has improved it's camera and settings making them perfect tools for introducing young artists to photography. In this course we explore the camera app, learn about composition, practice editing, and as a final project students will be creating their own photography series using their new skills.
